Spotlight on Michael Abitol: A Story of Leadership, Sales, and Building Relationships

At SOLID Surface Care, we believe that the people behind our success are just as important as the trusted facility care solutions we provide. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Michael Abitol—a dedicated team member whose journey is an inspiring example of how passion, teamwork, and commitment can lead to meaningful success.

Meet Michael Abitol, Regional Account Manager

What inspired you to get into your line of work, and how did your journey lead you to where you are now?

Michael’s path into surface care started in a very different world—he was an operations manager at a restaurant. It wasn’t until his brother, Dan Abitol, shared the stories of his own achievements at SOLID that Michael became intrigued. He admired the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie that came with being part of the SOLID team, and it didn’t take long before he wanted to be a part of it too.

Starting out in operations at SOLID, Michael brought his passion for teaching and leading others to help the team meet both personal and company goals. His natural ability to connect with people and achieve success in sales caught the attention of Mike Crippen, the owner, who encouraged Michael to consider sales full-time. Initially unsure, Michael balanced both sales and operations for the first year before realizing his true calling was in sales. Since then, he’s dedicated himself fully to helping clients find the best solutions, building lasting relationships along the way.

Joined by Luis Llopez and Josie Hernandez of SOLID Miami, FL.

What’s a piece of advice you would give to someone looking to grow their career or lead a team?

For Michael, success in sales and leadership comes down to one key principle: care. “Being an expert and truly caring about your clients matters,” he shares. “When clients know you have their best interests at heart, they start to see you as a partner, not just another vendor.” Michael’s commitment to building trust has helped him form deep connections with clients, many of whom turn to him for advice on areas outside of what SOLID typically provides. His approach is simple: by applying SOLID’s core values and focusing on what’s best for both clients and team members, success will follow.

How do you approach leadership and teamwork within your organization?

When it comes to leadership, Michael believes in being hands-on, supportive, and ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it’s answering emails, brainstorming ideas, or offering solutions, he’s always willing to step in and assist. “I know we achieve better results when we work as a team,” he explains. “We can always count on each other for support, and that’s what makes us stronger as an organization.” His involvement and creativity have helped SOLID grow and remain adaptable to new challenges.

Michael joins his SOLID Charlotte team at corporate headquarters.

Can you share a recent success or project that you’re especially proud of?

One of Michael’s most meaningful accomplishments is the relationship SOLID has built with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. It wasn’t an easy task to establish this partnership—it took persistence and a lot of hard work from the Miami team. But thanks to their dedication and constant communication, SOLID continues to expand the scope of work with the Seminole Tribe. Michael believes this will soon become one of SOLID’s largest accounts in Florida, and he’s excited to see the partnership grow.

Michael Abitol’s story is a reminder of the power of hard work, care, and the impact of building lasting relationships. His dedication to both his clients and team has played a big role in SOLID’s continued success. We’re proud to have him as part of our team and look forward to the many more milestones he’ll help us achieve.
